The Sorento is a big car. At roughly 4.8 metres long, it's there-or-thereabouts in the middle of the Skoda Kodiaq (4.7 metres) and Land Rover Discovery (a shade under five metres). With regards to width and height, the Kia is very similar to the Skoda, but narrower and shorter than the Discovery. Regardless, few will be disappointed by the space on offer inside.

Kia Sorento Hybrid interior space, storage & comfort

There's acres of room in the front of a Sorento, so even the tallest occupants should have no problem getting comfortable. It's much the same in the second-row seats – three adults are able to travel without clashing knees every few seconds.

As for the third-row seats, they're still suitably sized so that adult passengers should be comfortable on all but the longest journeys. This in itself is an achievement, as cramped third-row seats are the downfall of many seven-seater cars. There are also plenty of other cubbyholes throughout the cabin, including cup holders for the front, middle and rear seats.

Boot space

The Sorento’s boot is sizeable, with 608 litres available when the third-row seats are folded and 1,996 litres when the second row is dropped. Compared to both the Skoda Kodiaq and Land Rover Discovery these figures are a little low – the Land Rover, for example, has 1,137 litres of cargo space with its third-row seats down.
